Appleton’s Satiate-Your-Hunger Scavenger Hunt

Have another hankering for some piping hot MACS? Let us help you work up that hunger, so you can start, participate in and become president of your very own chapter of the Clean Plate Club.

Whether you’re already in Appleton or planning a road trip, here are our favorite activities, otherwise known as MACS appetite-inducers. Try one, or try them all:

1. Rather than count your calories, count those steps! See some of the most walk-able sights of the Fox Cities by trekking the Fox Trot Trail. With 16 sights to see, serious hunger’s only 2.2 miles of walking trail away.

2. Reach new heights of hunger with a wander around Highcliff State Park. Overlooking the largest inland lake in Wisconsin, the park’s situated on limestone cliffs, perfect for hiking, selfie-ing and spending quality time in the great outdoors.

3. Did somebody (else) say cheese? Tour around Appleton’s own Lamer’s Dairy Inc.! Shop for unique Wisconsin gifts, including delectable dairy products of all kinds, and watch milk being bottled through their 30-ft. observation window.

4. The next destination up to bat is Fox Cities Stadium, home of the Timber Rattlers. No doubt that cheering for this Milwaukee Brewers Class A Affiliate’ll set that MACs-loving metabolism in motion, but if it doesn’t? Laughing at the antics of Fang and Wiffer will.

5. It doesn’t chug or choo-choo. Appleton’s Downtown Trolley is more like an electric slide around Appleton, where you take a ride to see the sights. An important stop that’s not yet on the route? Your fill-up of ooey, gooey mac and cheese.

6. Going round and round about which MACS flavor you’ll choose? Give yourself some time to decide with a visit to Little Chute’s fully functioning windmill. The tour’ll take you nearly 100 feet in the air and 160 years into the past.

7. Wisconsin’s premier stock car and drag racing venue since 1964, the Wisconsin International Raceway hosts special events like Jet Dragsters and Nostalgic Drag Cars and can cause one-track thinking that goes something like this… “MACS, MACS, MACS.”

8. This house is lit! (That’s what the kids all say, right?) Except, it really is. Flip a switch in the World’s First Home Lit by Hydroelectricity, and see what the power of water can do.

9. Want to crush a craving, like *POOF*? Visit the Harry Houdini exhibit at the History Museum at the Castle. That’s right. Castle. Then follow that with a visit to MACS, and abracadabra the craving’s gone.

10. Catch a family-friendly flick (and an appetite for awesome mac and cheese) at the Field of Scenes. It’s an outdoor movie theatre that features today’s best shows, and let’s you listen to a double feature on the radio.

NOW… who’s hungry?? Consider this list a satiate-your-hunger scavenger hunt. And give us a visit (SOON) at our Appleton MACS!
